History
The company’s history dates back to 60 years. At the end of the 60s, a young tailor named Antonio Cutillo, after having worked in some of the most famous tailor’s shops in Naples – such as Rubinacci, Vittorio Albino and Vincenzo Attolini – driven by the continuous desire to explore new solutions, he came to England to learn the most advanced industrial techniques.
After a few years, in 1975, at the peak of the Italian economic and industrial boom, Antonio started an entrepreneurial adventure, setting up his first company highly specialised in the production of trousers.
By combining the modern knowledge developed in England with the sartorial and modelling experience gained during his training period in Naples, Antonio Cutillo’s product was immediately characterised by the extreme attention to detail and the focus to the fit of the garment, creating what can be called an ‘industrialised sartorial garment’.
Operating under a highly efficient production, streamlined by industrial processes learned in England, the business became immediately successful.
In 1990 a new company was set up, and the leadership was handed over to his 20yo son Giuseppe. After a long training in patternmaking and tailoring, Giuseppe took care of commercial relations and succeeded in expanding the customer portfolio and increasing the company’s turnover.
Later, Antonio’s daughters, Caterina and Roberta, joined the company. After completing their technical training at the tailoring school under the supervision of Antonio, they took on important roles in the control and implementation of production stages.
Giuseppe, Caterina and Roberta, thanks to their enthusiasm and joint commitment, have been carrying on the family legacy bringing the company to new international markets.
Over the years that followed, success gradually increased in terms of both quantity and quality. The continuous raise in demand for trousers, including women’s trousers, led to the need for new investments in 2002, such as the Carinaro factory, a 2-storey industrial plant with a surface area of approximately 2000 square metres.
Forty years of experience, quality and competence have allowed to place men’s and women’s trousers in the best shops in France, Belgium, England and Russia, alongside with some of the most excellent Italian tailoring houses.
